Apply for Grant

The Detroit Legacy Business Fund is piloting a program to support small businesses that meet its "legacy business" criteria. Grants are provided either as reimbursements or pre-payments for eligible projects. 
 

Each of Detroit’s seven council districts will receive two grants, plus two at-large grants citywide (16 total). Applications will be scored out of 100 points based on:

  • Legacy Business Track Record (25 points)
  • Social & Cultural Impact (40 points)
  • Product & Service Retention (10 points)
  • Project Description & Grant Use (25 points)

In each district, four finalists will be selected for two grant awards, based on their score, eligibility, and documents. A separate application process will select four citywide finalists for two at-large grants. Final recipients will be chosen after site visits.
