The Planning & Development Department has begun a micro-study of the Fenkell Ave. Corridor. The Fenkell Ave. Corridor Action Plan is focused on Fenkell Ave. between Wyoming & Livernois and it’s. 0.5-mile radius to strategically leverage City resources to transform the neighborhood's image and perception. By utilizing current assets and collaborating with local stakeholders, we aim to transform blight to beauty and reshape the narrative surrounding the neighborhood, emphasizing its unique character, cultural richness, and untapped potential. The focus is on emphasizing the sense of pride among residents and attracting positive attention to the area, thereby fostering a more favorable perception that will contribute to its overall revitalization.

Held July 02, 2024, from 6-7:30pm at New Life Family Church 1539 Livernois, Detroit, MI
The Fenkell Corridor Action Plan is focused on the Fenkell Ave Commercial Corridor between Wyoming (W) and Livernois (E). There is also additional consideration of the 0.5-mile radius surrounding the corridor.
The community engagement and input from the Stakeholder Task Force will dictate the priorities of the study. However, analysis of the corridor from the perspective of each City department and partner will be considered.
To be involved in the planning process, be sure to sign up for email alerts and communication and attend community engagement meetings. Also, please communicate with the Stakeholder Task Force to help raise any questions or concerns throughout the planning study.
There are no consultants working on this project. The effort is being don in-house led by the West Region Planning & Development Department team.
