East Jefferson Ave. from Rivard St. to Alter Rd. will be fully reconstructed with a new street, sidewalks, and replacement and relocation of underground utilities!
As part of the East Jefferson Corridor Enhancement Plan, four goals were established for Jefferson Ave. Those goals include increasing access to jobs, neighborhoods, and public spaces, supporting corridor businesses and retail, connecting the corridor’s diverse neighborhoods, and transforming the corridor from a barrier to a destination.
Next Steps:
Over the next year, the project design will be finalized. Staff plans to incorporate community input and conversations on cyclist infrastructure and general design into the final design of the project. The City will also continue coordination with utility companies.
Timeline:
Community meetings are planned throughout the design process. Construction will begin in the Spring of 2023.
