September is National Preparedness Month
Are you prepared if an emergency happened today?
If an emergency happened today, would you and your family be prepared to respond? National Preparedness Month is observed each September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time. This year’s theme is “Take Control in 1, 2, 3.”
The Detroit Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management encourages everyone--especially older adults who may be most vulnerable to emergencies--to assess their needs, make a plan, and reach out to family, friends, and neighbors for support before, during and after a disaster or emergency.
